Childhood Memories

Especially for late 80's and early 90's born

Born to a middle class family
Watching how it is woven
In a thread of silent sacrifices
Made each day and every moment
These Sacrifices are not made out of force
Nor with a feeling of martyrdom
They emerge out of sheer love and affection
Without any expectation of return

Undaunted Bravehearts

All of us have some good and bad experiences in life. This piece of writing is dedicated to one such incident.

I want you to take me to the beach
Walk with me hand in hand
Look into my eyes
Come closer to me so that I can feel your breath
Put your hands on my waist and look at me
The emotions I can feel is beyond all happiness
Nothing can match the warmth of true love
The tears are pouring down my eyes
Coz I have waited for this day for so long
Don’t wipe them off, let them come out
And why are your eyes so moist
I know how deeply you feel for me
We don’t need words to express our feeling

I consider myself lucky
for I have you
Who can bear my mood swings
Cater to my tantrums
Understand my emotions
Laugh on my stupid jokes
Make silent sacrifices
And always treat me so special

Service & Cadre Preferences

1)    Things to keep in mind while filling your DAF

1.       DAF is not like your resume, the more achievements the more you will score. Here DAF is only a way to know about you so that they can ask questions.
2.       Please do not try to fake or write for the sake of writing. If there is no achievement, then don’t create one, no hobby then don’t write fake one .
3.       Be specific. For you music might be a hobby (listening in free time), but they will expect you to know about music in detail. . You might like cooking but they will ask you anything related to cooking ( about preservatives, masalas, cooking recepies, types of cuisines etc).So better to avoid writing such open ended things. Write specific things which you know you can prepare.a
4.       Writing something and not able to answer basic questions related to those things sends a very wrong impression. When you are filling DAF ensure you write less but meaningful things you are confident about.

How to prepare for Ethics paper

This article is written by D K Balaji, Rank 36, CSE-2014 . I am sharing it here because I found it very practical . His strategy is exactly what UPSC demands. Moreover this year some theoretical questions were also asked so we need to ensure that topics directly mentioned in the syllabus, the elementary concepts related to them should be read properly.

How to approach an Essay in CSE examination

Essay writing is one of the most neglected area in UPSC preparation. Let me tell you,  this is one subject where you can easily make a drastic difference in your score with little efforts.  And yes leaving a few people , we all need to make efforts if we want to score 130 plus, else we end up scoring between 100-130. But with systemic efforts we can reach to 130-150 bracket. I am saying this as I made the jump from category 1 to 2 and that helped me to get a good rank in CSE exam.

In this small 10 minutes video I am sharing my approach towards essay writing:-
