Making life more balanced and meaningful

I am writing this blog after a long hiatus with the purpose of educating myself. I have been contemplating making my life more meaningful and balanced, rather than just passing my time. I thought I should write a blog to guide myself on what is more important and how to give direction to my life.

Life is not just about achieving success or any task; it's a journey full of exploration, a journey with diverse experiences that should be embraced daily. We waste a good chunk of our lives focusing on materialistic goals, essentially pushing our leisure for tomorrow. We are not in a race; there's nothing to achieve in life. Each day should be balanced and filled with diversity. Daily, we should strive for a balanced approach to life. Everything in a day should make it appear very fulfilling and meaningful. We can even segment our day: 8 hours to work, 8 hours to sleep, and 8 hours to leisure. There can be some variations, but any major variations will make us forgo the true meaning of this journey of life, which is about enjoying everything under the sun. We should focus on the following on a daily basis.

Health & Hygiene: Prioritize regular exercise to boost physical and mental well-being. Maintain a balanced diet with a variety of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Stay hydrated by drinking an adequate amount of water throughout the day. Ensure sufficient, quality sleep for overall health and energy. Limit processed foods and sugary drinks. Practice good hygiene.

Mental and Physical Fitness: Incorporate stretching, yoga, or exercise into your routine to keep the body flexible and joints functional. Engage in some form of sports or cardio for overall well-being. Embrace meditation and Pranayama for mental well-being, or spend time in silence with oneself.

Learning: Dedicate approximately 8 hours to professional goals. As part of leisure, try to learn something new daily, whether through reading books, magazines, newspapers, or watching educational videos or experiential learning. Recognize that intellectual growth is crucial in life.

Leisure: Cultivate a daily hobby, such as gardening, cooking, music, reading, dancing, physical fitness, painting, or photography. Hobbies can be creative, intellectual, fitness, or skill-driven and should contribute to relaxation and personal growth. Additionally, foster positive relationships and social connections for emotional support.

If you strive for balance, you will achieve meaningful growth in life. Remember, growth is not just about success; it's intellectual growth, emotional growth, mental growth. This will come through a balance of leisure, fitness, learning, and nurturing relationships in life. We don’t live to achieve something; "we just simply live."
